The Academy of Hockey is excited to announce our 2019 Summer Development Programs.

  • Pod Development Program (Application)
    • Squirt, Pee Wee, Bantam & Midget aged travel level players
  • Summer Goalie Camp (Application)
    • Group 1: 2007-2010
    • Group 2: 2003-2006
      ***Must be a AAA Travel goalie

How to register or apply:
If interested in participating, please scroll to your birth year below. When you find the program that interests you, please apply per the requirements of the program.

  • For all programs below, the application deadline is April 10th, 2019.  The Academy of Hockey staff will review and communicate quickly the status of application.

All Academy programs will utilize the state of the facilities located inside Harborcenter – part of the only three-rink complex in the NHL – including two NHL-size rinks, classroom video analysis, and the IMPACT Sports Performance cutting edge training facility. Browse the curriculum below by selecting your birth year. All Academy programming is open to male and female players.

There are a specific number of spots available for each program.  All of our summer programs are application based, which are filled after a review by our Academy Staff. When applying for programs, it is with the understanding that all sessions can be attended.  No refunds will be given for missed sessions.

AOH Summer 2019

Goalie Camp Group 1: 2007-2010

2019 Summer – Goalie Camp (2007-2010) – $275

The Academy of Hockey goalie camp aims to deliver a holistic program, with focus on building well-rounded, athletic goalies. The developmental goal for our participants will be to provide a consistent and professional level of instruction through a high number of repetitions with instant feedback and correction. The Academy of Hockey’s goaltending development curriculum, lead by Director of Goaltending John Daigneau, as well as other Academy of Hockey coaching staff members is fundamentally structured while progressively building towards more modern and advanced concepts.

Monday-Friday | 12:00pm – 4:00pm | July 8-12 | Harborcenter

There will be two independent groups, each consisting of 12 goalies. This Academy program will deliver a unique, one of a kind experience for participants both on and off the ice, through a variety of special features including:

  • 2 goalies per net
  • 3 to 1 goalie to coach ratio
  • Technical: 5  hours of on-ice instruction
  • Physical: Five (5) hours of goalie-specific off-ice training
  • Mental: 5 goaltending training-specific classroom sessions
  • Jersey provided
  • Final schedule will be communicated 2 weeks prior to beginning of camp

Key Fundamentals:  Strong base of skating, footwork and movement, crease presence and stance, stick utilization and placement

Progressive Concepts Progression of different save selections, which will lead into process of consistently controlling rebounds. Additionally, our belief in a reactive mindset and a relaxed intensity with relation to making saves will further build goaltenders mental strength, leading to greater consistency.

Rules to Apply: To be considered for participation at the 2019 Summer Goalie Camp, you must play at the Travel AAA Level.

Goalie Camp Group 2: 2003-2006

2019 Summer – Goalie Camp (2003-2006) – $275

The Midget Pod Development Program will contain “AAA” players only from the 2003 and 2004 birth years and will include a total of 10 hours of on-ice development:

  • Eight (8) – 75 minute Ice sessions
  • On-ice Skill Development – the skill and situational specific program will consistently test participants. The Academy coaching staff has added many new concepts to this off season’s curriculum to supplement the core skill base we feel is essential.
  • Small Group Training – Deliberate and constructive on ice instruction is essential to skill growth. This program will have a 4:1 Player to Coach ratio or lower each session.

Mondays and Wednesday – July 15,17,22,24,29,31 | August 5,7
On-Ice: 12:30pm – 1:45pm

Bantam Pod Development Program: 2005-2006

2019 Summer – Bantam Pod Development Program (2005-2006) – $249

The Bantam Pod Development Program will contain “AAA” players only from the 2005 and 2006 birth years and will include a total of 10 hours of on-ice development:

  • Eight (8) – 75 minute Ice sessions
  • On-ice Skill Development – the skill and situational specific program will consistently test participants. The Academy coaching staff has added many new concepts to this off season’s curriculum to supplement the core skill base we feel is essential.
