Junior College Pro Development Program

Junior College Pro Development Program

June – August

$450

This program will consist of fourteen (14) 75-minute on ice sessions beginning June 5 – August 2.  The program, conducted by the Academy coaching staff, will be very structured with a narrow focus: Positional instruction.  The staff will deliver position specific skating, skill work and game situation instruction.  This approach aligns well with our deep practice philosophy by providing each player the ability to understand a concept through detailed explanation, build the skill through controlled repetition, and build confidence via positive reinforcement and instant correction.

Our goal is to keep this group small, allowing us to ensure sufficient repetition and coaching support.  At the conclusion of this program, the Academy of Hockey will also conduct a Junior, College, and Pro Training Camp.  This program will be held for the last three (3) weeks of August, allowing players to ramp up speed, timing and compete level. There will be two (2) groups – a Monday/Wednesday and a Tuesday/Thursday.

Included in the Pod Development program are:

  • On ice Skill Development – the skill and situational specific program will consistently test participants. The Academy coaching staff has added many new concepts to this off season’s curriculum to supplement the core skill base we feel is essential.
  • Small Group Training – Deliberate and constructive on ice instruction is essential to skill growth.  This program will have a 4:1 Player to Coach ratio or lower each session.
  • Off-Ice Training – Once per week IMPACT training will be tailored to hockey strength and explosion.

Program Schedule is as follows:
