SPRING PROGRAMS

SPRING DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

The Academy of Hockey is excited to announce our 2018 Spring Development Programs.

As the game has evolved, the Academy of Hockey staff has worked diligently to stay ahead of the development curve, allowing us the ability to provide the optimal environment for our hockey players to grow. After hours of research and discussions with NHL coaches, we are confident that we have a suite of programs that can help players improve during the spring development season.

2018 Academy of Hockey Spring Programs

  • Development Program – Junior College Pro
  • Pod Development Program – Mite, Squirt, Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget aged travel level players
  • Academy Skating Program – Mite, Squirt, Pee Wee, and Bantam/Midget aged players
  • Goalie Pod Development Program – Squirt, Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget aged travel level players

**NEW THIS SPRING**

The core belief for the Academy POD Development program this spring is “Training to Contribute”.  The 8-week POD will consist of:

  • Skating development session
  • Skill based development session
  • High level competition – 2 tournaments

Both the skating and skill portions of the program will be progression based which are in tune to current and changing trends in today’s game.  We will lay the foundation to which we can effectively build upon during our practice sessions and the live competition of tournament games provides us a realistic viewpoint as to how each players’ training is helping them contribute. This is important because there is a major difference between something executed in practice and something executed under the stress of game competition.

We are confident that this program will provide our athletes with a developmental environment that will lead to accelerated learning and growth. We as a staff feel that it is also extremely important that we work to build trust and confidence with our players as relationships and communication can be the glue that brings everything else together.

Within our walls we pride ourselves on building a TRAINING CULTURE for our athletes providing sources of inspiration and ignition in all facets of our programs. We want players who are willing to buy into the notion that together, under one roof, the opportunity is here to get better. Our experienced coaching staff is excited about the opportunity to help accelerate and enhance the skill level of each player that is part of our Academy spring program.
